COMMERCIAL AND DIGITAL ANIMATION GRAD SHOW

On Friday April 24 and Saturday April 25 the graduating classes hosted an amazing gradshow for industry, friends, family and the general public at Harbour Centre in downtown Vancouver.

This was our first gradshow off campus and it was a great success drawing large crowds and lots of fanfare.  Graduates showcased Classical, Flash and 3D computer animation, stunning designs, layouts, life drawing and other works of art.  

Congratulations to everyone who poured their heart and soul into making this year one of the best shows in our programs history. 

Next stop the 2010 gradshow a year from now!  We'll see you then.

Open House

Capilano/Bardel Animation Mentorship Program Announced!

Bardel Entertainment has created a new opportunity for students to fast track to top level careers in animation! At the end of the first year, Cap animation students submit a portfolio/demo reel to Bardel. Three students are then awarded paid summer internships at Bardel, working directly for the Art Director, Head of Design or Head of Story. The goal is to identify and fast track students with the potential and desire to move quickly into these demanding jobs.

After coming back to their 2nd year in Commercial Animation, Cap students will continue to check in with their Bardel mentors for advice, critiques, portfolio suggestions and mini-workshops.

It is expected that after graduation, these students will jump past the entry level positions and start working in design, art direction and story development!

ANIMATION INSTITUTE

Calling Independent Animators 

This one-year program allows one or two animation graduates to come back and make a personal film! Students will have the use of the facilities and can sit in on regular classes. All it takes is a proposal for their film. Completed films are then sent off to animation festivals andcompetitions. Contact the department for more details.
