How to Apply  

  1. Download the 2010 Admissions kit and read about the program and the application process.
  2. Apply on-line for admission to Capilano University.  
  3. Mail, courier or drop off a disposable portfolio* of your own drawings and designs directly to:  Animation Department c/o Capilano University, 2055 Purcel Way, North Vancouver BC, CANADA  V7J 3H5.  DO NOT SEND ORIGINALS - PORTFOLIOS WILL NOT BE RETURNED.  
  4. Include a current resume and letter of intent describing reasons for applying to the Commercial Animation program and your long-term career goals.

*a "disposable" portfolio is one that contains printed copies of youroriginal artwork.  See Portfolio Advice for important information onwhat we look for in a portfolio.

Acceptance into the Commercial Animation program is based on a ranked portfolio review of all the applicants. Portfolios should arrive in our office by April 6, 2010. Portfolios will be reviewed by a selection committee and successful applicants will be notified by mid-April.  Late applications are accepted until the program is full, however it is in your best interest to submit before the deadline.

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from the Commercial Animation program, students must successfully complete all the component courses.

Professional Standards

All Commercial Animation students are required to adhere to high standards of academic performance and professional behaviour. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from the program.

Financial Aid

Many kinds of financial aid including bursaries, loans, awards and scholarships may be available to eligible individuals. The College’s Financial Aid Office can provide specific information.
